My name is Landa Gray. I am a mother of four adult kids, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild (I was married fairly early). I’ve lived in Washington for the last twenty-three years. Was a stay at home mom till the last of my children left the nest.
I started learning about Alzheimer’s and Dementia when I took care of my grandmother while my kids were very little. This experience began my journey down the road of care-giving.
I had the privilege of caring for two exceptional pregnant women until they were able to be on their own. Later, I was given the opportunity and had a few people into my home at different times who needed help getting back on their feet.
Eighteen years ago, I began providing care-giving help for a friend of mine that had intense health needs that lasted about four years. Since then, I have also been assisting her with medication issues, doctor appointments, legal matters , and have been her traveling companion when needed. I have experience with Diabetes, Partial blindness and caring for prosthetic limb. Lastly, I’ve had the privilege of caring for several elderly women who couldn’t walk, had Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson Disease. I am a NAR (Nurses Assistant Registered) and am continuing my studies to better serve my clients.
I have a strong caregiving background which uniquely qualifies me to provide those specific care-giving needs for your loved ones. I have found that the key for successfully providing care is to appreciate and understand the overall development of the individual, and their actual levels of ability which are often misunderstood. Experience has taught me that through a cooperative effort and a deeper understanding their needs and expectations scan be met.
